1998

August 1998

YFC Knysna establishes its first Management Board
1999

February 1999

Bonga (previously from YfC Team PE) joins YfC as the first youth worker – thanks to Thesens for making it possible for him to conduct a life-skills program during 1999

April 1999

The popular gospel group MIC visited Knysna on invitation of YFCNovember 1999 – Dads and Daughters Camp (A first in the Southern Cape)

2000

January 2000

Johan Laning joins YfC as youth worker, working mostly in the primary schools in the community

June 2000

Steffie Barnard runs the Comrades in 7 hrs 54 min raising funds for YfC (an amount of R5 984)
2001

April 2001

Anna-Lise Breedt joins YfC as youth worker

September 2001

Marui Goliath and Margaret Opperman joins YfC on a contract basis for a year as youth workers assisting Options
2002

June 2002

Steffie again runs the Comrades and raises R7 000 for YfC

August 2002

Marui and Ackson launch the Active Youth programme in Percy Mdala High and Knysna Secondary
2003

January 2003

Shahida Arries, an Options volunteer, is appointed as permanent staff member at Options

March 2003

YfC Knysna hosts the YfC National Leadership Team’s annual SALT and SUMMIT conferences

8 April to 1 May 2003

Walk for Hope 2003
People from all over Knysna, Sedgefield & Plettenburg Bay participate in a “Day of Prayer for Africa”.

YFC Knynsa launches their new Peer Education Program in collaboration with the Western Cape Education Department
